4 Dates Through Oct 06, 2018

ABOUT ABOUT

During the week of September 28 – October 8, filmgoers in San Antonio, TX will unite with over 100,000 film lovers across the world to view and judge the work of the next generation of filmmakers. The immensely popular Manhattan Short Film Festival will return to URBAN-15 for two consecutive weekends (September 28-29 and October 5-6) at 8pm, for a total of four screenings.

Manhattan Short’s unique and enduring feature is that it offers cinema goers a chance to become film critics, filling out a ballot after the screening that allows them to vote for Best Film and Best Actor.  Votes will be sent to Manhattan Short HQ, and winners announced at ManhattanShort.com on Monday, October 8th at 10am EST.

This year, Manhattan Short received 1565 short film entries from 73 countries, a testimony to the enduring vibrancy and creativity of the short film genre. The nine finalists hail from eight countries: Austria, Canada, Germany, Hungary, Kosovo, New Zealand, the USA, and two films from the United Kingdom. These finalists bring together as part of one program an extraordinary range of film genres, including intimate dramas; fast-paced animation; spine-tingling tales; a World War 2 epic; a film shot entirely underwater; and a dark comedy.
