The URBAN-15 Group is proud to present Austin-based instrumental music group, MUNDI. This one-night-only event will take place on March 21, 2015 at 8:00 pm in the URBAN-15 Studios located at 2500 S. Presa, San Antonio, TX 78210.
MUNDI’s music often has been described as a combination of Eastern European and Iberian folk music set to folk-rock and classical music instrumentation. This ensemble plays a style of chamber rock that ventures into the worlds of medieval, minimalist and modern composition. Although Mundi was founded on exploring medieval European music, obvious contemporary influences swirl through their sounds, and this band makes whatever they play seem immediate and present.
Members of Mundi are: Bruce Colson (violin), Darrel Mayers (guitar, music director), Tony Rogers (cello), Margaret Ayer (French horn) Mario Gonzalez (bass/hajhooj), and Ric Furley (percussion).
MUNDI has had two successful performance tours to Spain. They frequently play in the Austin area but this is their first concert date in San Antonio. “My House is the Sky” is MUNDI’s newest CD and consists of eleven works. The concert will be preceded by a short film montage of the groups most recent tour to Spain.
